Training Courses

Hamad International Training Center (HITC) will be offering internationally certified pre and post conference training courses for conference participants at discounted rates, these courses include:
- ACLS: (Advanced Life Support, European Resuscitation Council)
- ATLS: (Advanced Trauma Life Support. USA)
- ADAMS: (Advanced Disaster Administration and Medical Support)

In Conjunction with George Washington University:
- Emergency Medicine Review Course
This is a four-day course which will be running concurrently with the 4th International Trauma and Emergency Medicine Conference. It is aimed specifically at Arab Board Residents and will provide them with an opportunity for a full curriculum revision as well as opportunities to practice their exams, oral interviews and OSCE situations, including standardised patients. The course will be run over 5 days to allow conference participants an opportunity to get the most from the course and the Congress at the same time.The course will be from 24th to 28th February.

- Comprehensive Wound Care Course
This three-day course consists of lectures interspersed with practical wound-closure sessions and covers the management of both acute and chronic wound care. Participants have to choose whether to follow the acute or chronic wound care stream of the course. The course runs from the 29th of February to the 2nd of March. The course is for Physicians/Surgeons but attendance at the lectures for nursing staff is possible by prior arrangement.

- Ultrasound for Physicians
This three-day course aims to provide all physicians with a solid foundation in utilising ultrasound for bedside diagnosis. It is well known that competent use of ultrasound can reduce patients’ length of stay, increase their satisfaction and rapidly identify life-threatning conditions. No previous experience is required as this course starts with the basics and then builds on that knowledge to ensure candidates feel confident and competent in using this technology. The course runs from the 28th of February to the 1st of March. The course consists of both lectures and practical stations, with ‘real’ patients to optimise the opportunity for learning.
