Emergency departments within HMC hospitals are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for patients who require urgent medical attention. It is normally not necessary for patients to contact the Emergency Department prior to arrival, although National Center for Cancer Care & Research request that you phone ahead if you require urgent medical attention (this excludes women who are in labor who should proceed directly to the Emergency Department and are not required to phone ahead).
