Facilities Designed to accommodate comfortably the needs of the populace well into the next millennium, the six-floor inpatient Women's Hospital houses a 288-bed obstetrical and gynecologic facility. It currently has three operating theaters, 16 labor and delivery suites, and a well-updated Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Early in 1996, a 13-room VIP pay ward was inaugurated. Luxuriously furnished, the new ward epitomizes the comfort and convenience of a private maternity facility. Unsurprisingly, demand for these private facilities quickly increased which necessitated further expansion. By the end of 1996, an additional 12-room VIP ward was constructed, bringing a total of 25 rooms to the VIP facility. The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology is supported by the following facilities: radiology, computed assisted tomography, magnetic resonance imaging, laboratory and blood bank.
