DEPARTMENT OF RADIOLOGY

The Department of Radiology is part of the facilities of Hamad Medical Corporation and it provides services for more than 350,000 patients annually. The Department of Radiology offers virtually a whole range of modern diagnostic facilities.

The services we offer:

1. General Diagnostic Radiology (plain and contrast radiography)

2. Computed Axial Tomography

3. Magnetic Resonance Imaging

4. Interventional Radiology

5. Ultrasonography (incl. Colour Doppler)

6. Nuclear Medicine

7. Bone Densitometry

Structure:

The Department of Radiology consists of five autonomous sections:

Hamad General Hospital, Polyclinic, Rumailah Hospital, Out-Patient Department and Women’s Hospital.

A total of 351,683 examinations were done in various sections of the Radiology Department during 1997. This reflects an increase of 204% in comparison to 115,509 examinations done in 1983. Radiological examinations conducted in Hamad General Hospital rose for 218% to 236,728 in 1997 from 74,401 in 1983 when this hospital was opened.
