ROBOTIC HANDS

Robotic hands are no longer science fiction. Over the last few decades, robotic hands have been under development for handicapped patients.
It may soon allow the handicapped to eat and drink with artificial hands, although it may never succeed in mimicking the graceful hand movements of the ballet dancer.
Robotic hands to assist the surgeon are currently in use by several centers.
The quality of such computer-assisted surgery proved to be similar or better than conventional surgery for graft patency, ASD closure, and mitral valve repair. (see p.?)
