HONEY AS MEDICINE

Honey has been used as medicine for thousands of years until the first half of the 20th century. With the introduction of antibiotics and easy availability of synthetic medicines, honey was relegated as folk medicine by physicians. The emergence of drug resistant infections has stimulated resurgence of interest in the antibacterial properties of honey and possible other medical uses
