Qatar Medical Journal
is the official periodical of the medical
community in Qatar.
Papers considered for publication in Qatar
Medical Journal are those reporting original
work, review articles and case reports that
are particularly relevant to medicine in the
broad sense. Editorials and Review articles
are by invitation.
The manuscript should be numbered starting
with the title page using Arabic numerals.
Use double spacing and start each section
in a new page (Title, Introduction, Methods,
Result, etc.). Include each author's basic
and highest post graduate degrees as well
as the corresponding author's full address,
fax number and e-mail if available.
Case reports have to be short, not exceeding
5 pages with the references, and original
articles up to 10 pages including references.
Manuscripts and all illustrations should
be submitted in three copies.
Figures should be of a high quality. Color
figures can be accepted if necessary. Please
indicate the number and the name of the first
author on the back of each figure. Tables
should each be on a separate page and separate
from the legends.
It will be helpful if authors indicate the
best place for each figure or table.
S.I. units of measurements are preferred.
Authors are advised to assemble, analyze and
present their data according to: Altman DG
et al. Statistical guidelines for contributors
to medical journals. Br. Med. J. 1983; 286:
1489-1493.
References should be listed numerically at
the end of the article in their order of appearance.
The references must be given in the Vancouver
style. Authors are advised to study thoroughly
the following: International Committee of
Medical Journal Editors: Uniform requirements
of manuscripts submitted to biomedical journal
Br. Med. J. 1982; 284: 1766-70 (Reprinted
in Qatar Medical Journal 1984; 5: 6-15).
Manuscripts are normally published in English
but Arabic text can be considered if written
in scientific format and language.
When accepted, the author will be requested
to submit the manuscript, tables, and figures
on diskette to facilitate publication.
Articles accepted for publication are subject
to editorial revision and they become the
exclusive property of Qatar Medical Journal.
They may not be reproduced elsewhere, wholly
or in part, without the consent of the Editor.
The Editor and the Journal are not responsible
for the views and statements of the authors
as presented in their contributions.
