Our philosophy of care is based on the understanding that spiritual / religious
care is an important part of your healthcare. If you wish or need any
spiritual/religious or emotional support, please inform a Nurse or Social
Worker who will arrange a visit from someone from your faith community.
For patients who are Muslim, prayer areas are located in the following areas:
Hamad General Hospital
The mosque is located on the first floor near the security desk.
Women’s Hospital
The mosque is located outside at the back of the hospital building in the West
Wing. For women, a prayer room is located inside the hospital on the first
floor next to Ultrasound Radiology waiting area for females.
Rumailah Hospital
The mosque is located on the first floor just behind the Pharmacy in an open
area. For women, a prayer room is situated on the first floor at the back of
the Social Service office.
Al Amal Hospital
A prayer room is located on the first floor near the Outpatient Department.

available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to answer your questions and concerns.
In the event that you wish to talk with one of our Patient Relations
Coordinators, please feel free to ask any employee. Please express your concern
to the In-Charge Nurse during after hours. Our Patient Relations Coordinators
are available Sunday-Thursday from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Please

Our Security Officers are on duty 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to protect you
and your family. If at anytime you become concerned about your personal safety
or valuables, please tell your Nurse or contact Security near the main entrance
to the Hospital.
Security Officers are also available to give directions and answer any of your
facility questions. They are responsible for maintaining and regulating the
flow of visitors according to hospital rules and regulations. Please follow
their instructions.

Many staff will care for you throughout your care. It is important that you
learn who your caregivers are so that you can appropriately participate about
your care.
Hospital Employees
All employees wear an identification badge that indicates they are an employee
of Hamad Medical Corporation. You should feel free to know the names of any of
your caregivers. If you have a doubt about someone who has approached you,
please contact the In-Charge Nurse for your unit.
Medical Staff
Every patient has a named Consultant. This Consultant and their team are
responsible for your care. This team may include a Consultant, Senior
Specialist, Specialist, Resident, Intern and/or Medical Student.
Nursing
During your hospital stay, you will have a designated Nurse on each shift that
will be responsible for your care. These Nurses are responsible for carrying
out your individual care plan across all shifts. At the beginning of each
shift, the Nurse assigned to your care will introduce herself to you. There are
three shifts of nursing staff over a 24-hour period. At the start of each
shift, a report will be given about your status to the next shift Nurse. These
reports are very important in ensuring that there is good communication and
continuity about your care.
There is a Head or In-Charge Nurse for each patient care area. For any query or
concern during your care, you may ask to speak to the In-Charge Supervisor. It
is her/his job to make sure that the service runs smoothly and that your care
is uneventful.
Paramedical Staff
The hospital has a range of paramedical staff that may be involved in your
care. Some of them include a: Physiotherapist, Dietician, Pharmacist,
Respiratory Therapist, Phlebotomist (draws blood) and or EKG Technician. These
professionals are not Physicians or medical doctors but clinicians who follow
the orders of your Physician to assist in your care.
Support Staff
Hamad Medical Corporation has many staff in Housekeeping, Engineering, Catering
and Security dedicated to making your stay comfortable, safe and clean. Should
you need to contact any of these services, please ask to speak to the In-Charge
of the unit.
To assist you with admission and discharge, Hamad Medical Corporation has staff
dedicated in the Admission’s Office, Social Work, Birth Registration, Medical
Records and Cashier.
