Visiting Rules

Patients and their families and visitors are requested to respect the following visiting rules.

Visiting hours are between 7:00 AM and 9:300 PM, 7 days a week. With the exception of Critical Care Units, children under 12 years of age are allowed to visit patients between 3:00 PM and 7:00 PM. An adult must accompany all children visitors.

Visitors may be asked to step outside the room during

Physician rounds, special procedures and/ or emergencies.

Some units are subject to special requirements and visiting rules. Please comply with these rules as they are developed for your protection.

If you do not want visitors, please inform your In-Charge Nurse or your Physician.
 

Sending Gifts

A flower/chocolate shop is located on the first floor of Hamad General Hospital and Women’s Hospital near the main entrance. It is open from 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM. They will deliver flowers or chocolates to a patient’s room upon request. Flowers are welcome on any unit with the exception of the Intensive Care Units.
 

Bringing in Foods

Food brought in from home is highly discouraged unless directed by your Physician.
 

Cafeteria

Visitors are welcome in all hospital cafeterias.

Hamad General Hospital
Hamad General Hospital cafeteria is located on the first floor at the back of the hospital. Hours or operation are 7:00-8:00 AM for breakfast, 2:00-3:00 PM for lunch and 7:00-8:00 PM for dinner. A complete meal service is offered during these times.

Women’s Hospital
Women’s Hospital cafeteria is open seven days a week, 24 hours a day. The cafeteria is located at the front entrance of the hospital on the first floor. Hot meals, sandwiches, hot and cold beverages, coffee, muffins and snacks are available.

Rumailah Hospital
Rumailah Hospital cafeteria is located on the first floor in the rear of the hospital. Hours of operation are every day 7:30 AM to 7:30 PM. Hot meals, sandwiches, hot and cold beverages, coffee, muffins and snacks are available.
 

Car Parking

Free open parking for patients and visitors is available at all the hospitals. There is dedicated parking for emergency patients at the emergency departments for Hamad General Hospital and Women’s Hospital. Please do not use the Emergency for non-emergency parking.
Space on the side of the hospital is limited, so please avoid long-stay parking as much as possible and take care never to obstruct access in the parking area as this may prevent access by emergency vehicles. There are parking spaces for disabled drivers located at the front of each parking area throughout the Rumailah and Hamad campuses.
