1. Title page : Concise titles are preferred wherever
possible. The title page should include: the authors’
names and institutional affiliations; the name of
the department(s) and institutions(s) to which the
work should be attributed; disclaimers (if any);
corresponding authors with their name, mailing
address, telephone, fax and e-mail and publishable
address for correspondence; sources of support (if
any) and the total word count.
2. Conflict of interest information.

Abstracts : The abstract should
not exceed 250 words and outline the
purpose of
the article. Original articles require structural
abstracts, defining objectives,
materials, methods, results, and conclusions.
4. Introduction : The introduction
should briefly describe the study,
question, scope
and the relevance to emergency medicine.
5. Methods :
Should include the study design,
population, setting, etc.
6. Statistics :
Describe statistical methods with enough
detail to enable a knowledgeable reader, with access
to the original data, to verify the reported results.
7. Results :
Should include the statistical analysis
of the data. Results should be
presented in a tabular or graphic form and should be referred
to in the texts.

Discussion : The discussion
should put the results in the
context of the current
information about the study topic.

Figures and figure legends : Figures and figure
legends must be referred to in the text in sequential
order and submitted on separate pages. If a figure
has been published, acknowledge the original source
and submit written permission from the copyright
holder to reproduce the material.
10. Photographs : If photographs of people are used,
either the subjects must be unidentifiable or their
pictures must be accompanied by written permission
to use the photograph(s).
11. References:
Should be listed in numerical order with
abbreviated journal names according to the Index
Medicus Style. If there are more than three authors
the first three authors should be listed followed by
“et al”.
As a general rule, manuscripts and illustrations are not
returned to the author regardless of whether or not they
are accepted for publication. Editors of the Journal are
not responsible for the views and ideas of the authors as
presented within their manuscripts.
Reprints may be available if ordered in advance when
the manuscript is submitted.
Receipt of manuscripts: Upon receipt, the corresponding
author will be issued with a unique reference number
as an identifier for all correspondence linked to the
manuscript. In addition, an ‘Authorship Form’ will be sent
which must be completed and returned to the Journal
before acceptance can be made.
