and Medical Statistics

 

Hamad Medical Corporation established the Department of Medical Statistics in April, 2000 as per the Administrative Decision No.(5) of February 2, 2000. In accordance with the Administrative Decision, the main objective of the Department of Medical Statistics was to be in charge of developing and maintaining a computer based Health Information System for the Health Care System in Qatar for preparing researches, health indicators and technical reports. Also, the Department of Medical Statistics was authorized to unify all the existing statistical reports of the Ministry of Public Health and Hamad Medical Corporation in order to maintain a comprehensive Annual Statistical Report covering all the information related to health care services by the Ministry of Public Health and Hamad Medical Corporation. The Department was updating the health information annually and providing the health indicators and health information to Executive Board of the Health Ministerial for GCC states, World Health Organization, Supreme Council for Planning, Supreme Council for Family Affairs, local and International Health Organizations, Health Researchers and University Students.
