Hepatitis B virus (HBV) and hepatitis C
virus (HCV) infections are among the
most frequent viral infections of man
and represent a major global public
health problem. Indeed, in the last few
years, the knowledge of epidemiology,
natural history, factors influencing the
course of the liver disease and mainly
efficacy of therapy. Still important
efforts are needed for early and
precised diagnosis in order to improve
the management of patients with chronic
hepatitis B or C."
